-316187.17 Captains Log:  Support Needed

My daughter Michelle, grandson Max and myself have created a team for the March of Dimes Walk at the following date and time. Since all three of us are SFI and McNair members I named the team Starfleet. Our goal is to try and raise $300.00. My daughter will be trying to get donation at Ruby Tuesday, where she works and I will be asking Gilbert's of Atlanta dba Wendy's for a donation. If any McNair of KAG members wish to walk with us we welcome it. The more the merrier.

I'd like to ask McNair members if we could take $25.00 from the McNair treasury for this endeavor. I would like to have McNair members make a little donation, as little as $1.00 if possible so we can meet the goal of $300.00. I believe this is a worthwhile charitable thing we could do as well as doing the breast cancer walk in October.

-317514.14 Captains Log: Long Distance Thank You.

Today July 7,2006 I received a letter from the Army Community Service in Schweinfurt, Germany. For those of us not familiar with the Army the Army Community Services or ACS is basically a place that helps soldiers find resources such as WIC, Food stamps, Financial assistance, etc.

Ms. Michaud/USS Ronald E. McNair

Thank you so much for the generous donation of coupons you have made to the Schweinfurt community!  We had over 400 soldiers and family members arrive during the months of November and December to which your contribution was greatly appreciated.

On behalf of the Army Community Service Center and the entire Schweinfurt community, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your overwhelming generosity and support!

Captains Log:  VA Thank You

The following letter was received  by Captain Pam Michaud from the VA Hospital thank9ing the ship for donations, DVD Player and Christmas gifts.

Dear Ms. Michaud:

On behalf of the Columbia SC-WJB Dorn VAMC patients and staff, we would like to extend our appreciation to you for your donation of VCR, tapes, DVD tapes and paperback books. Your thoughtfulness reflects the concern that you feel for our veterans and for the service they provided to all of us while in service to our country.

Without your support, we could not provide for the smaller niceties that make hospitalization more bearable. Your thoughtfulness also reflects the concern and compassion that our community feels for our veterans.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Priscilla S. Creamer
