The story unfolds in
a small New Hampshire town in 1955 and concludes in the
early nineties in the Pocono Mountains located in
Pennsylvania.
New Hampshire’s
young people in the fifties enjoyed an era of Grange
Hall square dancing, picnics, sports events, park band
concerts, fairs, mountain climbing,
swimming and People
Watching on Main Street.
In this era of
clearly defined codes of conduct and behavior, we have
the protagonist, Clarisse Lapointe, who on a hot summer
night, steps outside the parameters and ventures into
what could have been a dangerous and risky experiment.
However, this
proves to be the night that forever alters her life when
she meets her
soul mate. They both recognize the
intensity of the experience to be greater than anything
these two young people had ever experienced but without
explanation as to the synchronistic events that led them
